It’s August in Bayfield, and anyone who lives here knows where I am going with this…we are TIRED! We have fun up here, we play hard, we work hard, and we crash hard! How do we find that space, that sense of place when we get to this chaotic exhausted zone?
We connect back to where we feel safe.
The other day, a quiet day, when my kids and I escaped the house and went to the beach, I had that feeling of connection again. I chose to slow down, put my feet in the lake and be with my kids. The simple moments of laughter, the sounds of the water, the quiet space of connecting to my kids just seemed to make me reconnect to myself. The small space of quiet and connection to my place just made it all seem just a little bit better…not necessarily easier, but better. My smile came back, my breath seemed to ease, and my ability to connect to myself had returned…and in the end it was really only 30 minutes out of my day. So.very.simple.
What is your place? What is your connection to yourself to find your quiet? Where do you go? Take a moment to go there, it is worth every single breathing minute!
